SEGUIN, Texas -- Wesley Mitchell knocked home a goal in the 32nd minute to lift the Trinity Tigers to a 1-0 conference victory Sunday over Texas Lutheran.
At Gustafson Field, Mitchell scored off a feed from Philip Duenez.
The Tigers improved to 8-3-2 overall and to 4-1 in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference.
TLU dropped to 10-5 overall and to 4-2 in the SCAC.
The Bulldogs had a couple of good scoring chances late in the second half but could not capitalize. Trinity's Blake Lieberman made a couple of saves in the shutout.
Trinity held a slight edge in total possession, 52 percent to 48 percent. The Tigers also had a 21-8 advantage in total shots and a 7-2 edge in shots on goal.
Caleb Weed made six saves for TLU.
TLU plays its final home contest of 2019 this Friday when it hosts Southwestern at 7 p.m.
