Women's Basketball completed the weekend sweep over UDallas with a convincing 67-52 victory. Micayla Hamilton scorched the Crusaders with a 29 point, 10 rebound double-double.
The Celts started the game red hot as they kicked off the first quarter with a 15-2 run. Micayla Hamilton continued her offensive dominance over the Crusaders as she recorded 10 first quarter points, eight of which were scored in a row to start the game. Defensively, they flustered UDallas causing them to shoot 21% from the field and turn the ball over 16 times. UST headed into halftime with a 15-point lead as Hamilton led all scorers with 14 points and 5 rebounds.
The second half featured more offensive power from both the Celts and the Crusaders. UST, however, was too much for UDallas' hot hand. After out preforming the Crusaders in almost every statistical category, the Celts were able to secure the weekend sweep with a 15-point victory. Micayla Hamilton had herself a game which included a career high 29 points and 10 rebounds. Along with the sophomore's double-double, she again recorded three steals and one block.
Zariah McInnis reached double figures for the third straight game by chipping in 15 points while shoot 53% from the field. Jade Evans was a force on defensive as she grabbed seven boards and had 3 blocks and 3 steals of her own.
The Celts improve to 2-2 for the season and will return to action February 5th and 6th vs. Austin College.
