ABILENE, Texas – The McMurry University swim teams lost both the women's and men's sides of its dual match versus the University of Texas of the Permian Basin. The War Hawks women fell 156-77, while the men lost 145-86.
The NCAA Division II Falcons dominated the young War Hawks, winning the majority of the events.
On the women's side, junior
Robyn Remschel won to 5-yard backstroke in a time of 29.10 seconds.
Remschel also took top honors in the 100 backstroke in a clocking of 1:01.19 (five seconds ahead of the second place finisher). She also swam in the 500-yard freestyle for the first time, placing second in a time of 5:47.27 minutes.
Monica Flores took first place points in the 200 individual medley (2:07.26). Flores was also third in both the 50 breaststroke (37.32) and 1000 freestyle (12:22.47).
Zandria Rodriguez was second in the women's 50 butterfly (30.63).
The McM men received first place scores from
Jerick Pena in the 200 individual medley (2:07.26). Pena was second in the 100 backstroke (59.28) and third in the 100 butterfly (54.58).
Danny Baki had a first in the 500 freestyle (5:38.55).
Andrew Jarrett (26.65),
Austin Gombas (27.31) and
Zach Tassin (28.44) went 1-2-3 in the men's 50 butterfly.
Zakai Love was third in the 50 freestyle (24.58).
