The Tigers took a two-goal lead, their biggest of the game, when Jack McCormick capped a 5-0 run midway through the third quarter.

Groschan made two more saves before Desmond Decker struck for what proved to be the game winner with 9:10 remaining in the contest.

Kreitler pulled CC to within a goal with 8:54 remaining, but the Tigers were unable to get another shot past Groschan.

Kreitler led the Tigers with three goals, while Henri Halle added a pair.

Eastern built an early 3-0 lead, but the Tigers answered with three of their own and knotted the score when Gray Ritger found the cage with 12 seconds remaining in the first period.
