Trinity Clips Colorado College, 1-0

Box Score Trinity University took over sole possession of first place in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference with a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Colorado College on Sunday afternoon at Pail McGinlay Field.

Freshman defender Kellen Reid struck for the only game of the contest in the 57th minute after taking a feed from Daniel Ruano.

Trinity improved to 11-1 overall and 7-0-0 in the SCAC. The Tigers, who are 10-2 overall, are only one game back with a 6-1-0 conference record.

CC recorded a 9-5 advantage in total shots during the first half, but was unable to solve senior goalkeeper Matt Cardone, who made two of his six saves.

Freshman Theo Hooker stopped a season-high seven shots for the Tigers.

The game was as close as the final statistics. The hosts finished with an 18-16 edge in total shots and a 6-3 advantage in corner kicks.

Colorado College won't have to wait long for its chance to even the season series between the national-ranked opponents. CC plays host to TU next Sunday at Stewart Field.
