Trinity completes two-game road sweep of Texas Lutheran

SEGUIN, Texas -- The Trinity Tigers claimed a second consecutive road victory over Texas Lutheran Women's Basketball with a 69-56 victory Saturday in TLU's Memorial Gymnasium.
 
The win moved Trinity to 4-2 overall and to 4-2 in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference.
 
TLU fell to 2-2 overall and to 2-2 in the SCAC.
 
Trinity won the first game of the back-to-back series with a 78-52 victory Friday night in Memorial Gymnasium.
 
In Saturday's victory, Ashlyn Milton scored 18 points in 25 minutes of action. She made six of her eight shots and four of her six shots from the three-point line. She added five rebounds and two assists.
 
Jordan Rudd, Trinity's senior point guard, contributed 12 points, six assists and four steals. Maggie Shipley and Kelly Simmons scored 11 and 10, respectively. Simmons recorded four blocks and six rebounds.
 
TLU received 13 points from Abby Hroch. The senior post from Port Lavaca added nine rebounds, four steals, and two assists.
 
Jayla Santa Maria and Tara Molina scored 11 and 10, respectively. Molina dished out four assists and grabbed five rebounds. 
 
TLU shot 37.9 percent from the field and 33.3 percent from the arc.
 
The Bulldogs head to Georgetown, Texas for next Friday and Saturday's games with Southwestern University. The Friday game begins at 4 p.m., and the Saturday contest is set for a 1 p.m. start.
