TROY GRIFFITH OF TEXAS LUTHERAN
UNIVERSITY, a senior forward
on the men's basketball team from Evans, Ga., has been selected the
SCAC Character & Community Male Student-Athlete-of-the-Week for
the week ending Sunday, February 2.
Griffith has been a two-year starter for the Texas Lutheran men's
basketball team and serves as the Bulldogs' team captain this
season. He has quickly made his mark on the Bulldogs after
transferring to TLU after two years at Erskine College in South
Carolina. Along with his considerable contributions on the court,
he's excelled in the classroom, producing a perfect 4.0 grade-point
average during his two years on campus while majoring in
mathematics. His academic achievements earned him a spot on this
year's Capital One Academic All-District Team and makes him a
finalist for a spot on the Capital One Academic All-America squad.
He's also a team representative on TLU's Student-Athlete Advisory
Committee.
Along with his success in the classroom, Griffith has also served
in the Seguin community. He's volunteered as a team leader for
TLU's "Day of the Dogs" program, helping to support battered women,
while also working alongside local churches to help clean up and
beautify the local community with the help of TLU's "Hot Dawgs"
program. Troy is scheduled to graduate in December 2014 after
completing his student teaching during the fall of 2014.

junior guard on the women's basketball team, has been selected the

for the week ending February 2, 2014.
The SCAC honors and recognizes the efforts of extraordinary
student-athletes who excel in their sport, and also serve their
campus and community.
Coley fits the bill in both instances.
The 5-foot-7 Coley has earned All-SCAC honors over the past two
seasons. She made the All-SCAC Second Team last year, and the Third
Team tn 2012. A team captain, Coley has started all 20 games for
the 16-4 Tigers this season. She averages 15.5 points per game, and
has shelled out 69 total assists (3.5 per game). An effective
shooter, Coley has registered a .453mark from the field, and .333
in 3-point range.

Good Works Team.
She is a member of Trinity’s Fellowship of Christian Athletes
Leadership Team, and is the secretary for the Student-Athlete
Advisory Committee. Coley has organized a number of fundraisers,
including an event which raised nearly $20,000 in the battle
against breast cancer.
Among her activities, Coley has volunteered with the San Antonio
Metropolitan Ministries.
